They will ask you about Dhu'l-Qarnayn. Say, "I will give you an account of him." 83 Indeed We established him upon the earth, and We gave him to everything a way. 84 So he followed a way. 85 To the extent that when he reached the setting-place of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and found a nation there; We said, “O Zul-Qarnain – either punish them or choose kindness for them.” 86 He said: As for him who doeth wrong, we shall punish him, and then he will be brought back unto his Lord, Who will punish him with awful punishment! 87 As for he who believes and does good works he shall receive a fine reward in recompense and we shall speak to him with a mild command' 88 He again pursued a purpose. 89 Until, when he came to the rising place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We (Allah) had provided no shelter against the sun. 90 Thus. And We had encompassed [all] that he had in knowledge. 91 He travelled 92 Until, when he came between two mountains, he found before them a nation that did not appear to understand any speech. 93 They said: "O Zul-qarnain! the Gog and Magog (People) do great mischief on earth: shall we then render thee tribute in order that thou mightest erect a barrier between us and them? 94 He replied, "The power that my Lord has granted me is better (than your tax). Help me with your man-power and I shall construct a barrier between you and Gog and Magog. 95 Bring me ingots of iron' After he had leveled between the two cliffs, he said: 'Blow' And when he made it a fire, he said: 'Bring me molten copper so that I may pour over it' 96 And (Gog and Magog) were not able to surmount, nor could they pierce (it). 97 He said: 'This is a mercy from my Lord. But when my Lord's promise is come, He will make it dust. The promise of my Lord is true' 98 ۞ On the day when the barrier is demolished, We will leave human beings in chaos. We will leave them like the waves of the sea striking against each other. Then the trumpet will be sounded and We will bring them all together. 99 That will be the Day We shall place Hell before the unbelievers 100 The ones whose eyes were covered from My remembrance, and who could not bear to hear Truth. 101
