(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
