He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 lofty and pure, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And dense gardens, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
