And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
