Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Ha-Mim. 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 proclaiming good news and a warning. Yet most of them turn away and so do not listen. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
