Nay, by the Moon 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning for people -- 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
