(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
