The Comet (Al-Taareq)

CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
