We settled the children of Israel in a blessed land and provided them with pure sustenance. They did not create differences among themselves until after the knowledge had come to them. God will judge their differences on the Day of Judgment. 93 So if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters. 94 or reject the signs of Allah as false, for then you shall be among those who will be in utter loss. 95 Verily those on whom the word of thy Lord hath been justified shall not believe. 96 Even if every sign should come to them, - until they see the painful torment. 97 Why did no one except the people of Jonah believe (in their punishment before their death) so that they could have benefitted from their faith? When the people of Jonah believed, We saved them from a disgraceful torment in this life and provided them with the means of enjoyment for an appointed time. 98 And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muhammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers? 99 And it is not for a soul to believe except by Allah's permission; and He casts uncleanness on those who will not understand. 100 (Muhammad), tell them to consider that which is in the heavens and the earth. Evidence and warnings are of no avail to the disbelieving people. 101 Do they then expect (any thing) but (what happened in) the days of the men who passed away before them? Say: "Wait ye then: for I, too, will wait with you." 102 Then we shall save Our Messengers and the believers. It is Our obligated duty, We shall save those who believe. 103
