The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then he mustered 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
