And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 "Now [as for me, I know that,] verily, these [false deities] are my enemies, [and that none is my helper] save the Sustainer of all the worlds, 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no loyal friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
