۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
