The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 The closing night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
