Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 and the jinn before (the human being) of smokeless fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44
