3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
