We have sent no Prophet to any city but that We seized its people with misery and hardship, that haply they might be humble; 94 then We gave them in the place of evil good, till they multiplied, and said, 'Hardship and happiness visited our fathers.' So We seized them suddenly, unawares. 95 And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning." 96 Did the people of the towns feel secure against the coming of Our wrath by night while they were asleep? 97 Or are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of Our wrath upon them in the daytime while they play? 98 Do they feel secure against the design of Allah None can feel secure against the design of Allah except the utter losers. 99
