The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
