۞ He it is who created you from a single soul, and He created therefrom his spouse that he might find repose in her. Then when he covereth her she beareth a light burthen and fareth about therewith; then when she groweth heavy the twain call upon Allah their Lord: if Thou vouchsafest us a goodly child, we shall surely be of the thankful. 189 But when He gave unto them aright, they ascribed unto Him partners in respect of that which He had given them. High is He Exalted above all that they associate (with Him). 190 Attribute they as partners to Allah those who created naught, but are themselves created, 191 The idols are things that are not able to help others or even themselves. 192 And if you call them to true guidance, they will not follow you. It is all the same for you whether you call them to true guidance or keep silent. 193 Those on whom you call apart from God, are servants the likes of you; call them and let them answer you, if you speak truly. 194 Do they have feet to walk with? Or have they hands to hold with? Or have they eyes to see with? Or have they ears to hear with? Say, “Call upon your ascribed partners and conspire against me, and do not give me respite.” 195 Surely my guardian is Allah, Who revealed the Book, and He befriends the good. 196 And those whom you invoke other than Allah, they can neither help themselves nor you. 197 And if you were to call them to true guidance, they will not hear; and you observe them looking at you whereas they have no power to see.' 198 Have forgiveness, preach the truth, and keep away from the ignorant ones. 199 And O listener! If the devil provokes you, seek the refuge of Allah; indeed He is All Hearing, All Knowing. 200 Indeed those who fear get alerted whenever a temptation from the devil troubles them, and they perceive immediately. 201 But their brethren (the evil ones) plunge them deeper into error, and never relax (their efforts). 202 And if you do not bring them a miracle [according to their (i.e. Quraish-pagans') proposal], they say: "Why have you not brought it?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This (the Quran) is nothing but evidences from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe." 203 When the Quran is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace, so that you may receive mercy. 204 Remember your Lord deep within yourselves, humbly and privately - instead of shouting out loud - (in prayer) in the mornings and evenings and do not be of the heedless ones. 205 Those who are with your Lord are not too proud to worship Him. They exalt Him and to Him they prostrate. ۩ 206
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
