This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
