And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;" 29 So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 unto the day of a known time.' 38 "O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I'll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray, 39 "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
