Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
God the Almighty always says the truth.
