Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
