Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 and the partitioners, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
