The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 The night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
