Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
