The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? 1 Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. 2 Surely We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful. 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, 5 This will be a gushing spring wherefrom Allah's servants shall drink wine, a spring from which they will take out channels wherever they wish. 6 They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. 7 who give food, for the love of Him to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, 8 [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude. 9 for we fear from our Lord a frowning day, inauspicious. 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 And shall recompense them for that which they patiently bare with a Garden and silken garment. 12 Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. 13 And its shade will cover them, and its fruit clusters brought down low for them. 14 And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 And therein they shall be given to drink a cup whose mixture is ginger, 17 From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, 19 And when you look towards it, you will see serenity and a great kingdom. 20 They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
