And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
