Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 Thamud, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
