Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
