The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
