The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 while they sat around it, 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
