The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
