Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble, writers 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
