Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha. Mim. 1 I swear by the Book that makes things clear: 2 verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities, 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 We utterly destroyed them although they were greater in might than these. The examples of ancient peoples have gone before. 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
