The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 in columns outstretched. 9
