Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 and goblets set forth 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
