Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER the sun and its radiant brightness, 1 And [by] the moon when it follows it 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 And [by] the night when it covers it 4 The heavens and its architecture, 5 and by the earth and That which extended it! 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 and inspired it with its sin and its piety, 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 and he who suppresses it will be ruined. 10 Thamud belied in their exorbitance. 11 when the most wicked of them broke forth, 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction (i.e. all grades of people, rich and poor, strong and weak, etc.)! 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
