Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 therein a running fountain, 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
