Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
