The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
