Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 therein a running fountain, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
