The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
