The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
