When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By thy life, in their intoxication they were wandering bewildered. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
