Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
