The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
