The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
