The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 Fire of Allah, Kindled, 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 in extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
