Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
