In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
