۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 and say: "Which is better - our deities or he?" [But] it is only in the spirit of dispute that they put this comparison before thee: yea, they are contentious folk! 58 He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 Had We willed, We would have appointed angels among you to be successors in the earth. 60 It is knowledge of the Hour; doubt not concerning it, and follow me. This is a straight path. 61 And let not Satan bar you [from it] - for, verily, he is your open foe! 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore worship Him. That is the Straight Path' 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 Friends will turn into enemies on that day, except those who fear and follow the straight path. 67
